Bridgerton Inspired Gowns

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past 10 weeks, you’ll be well up to speed with the latest installment of Julia Quinns TV adaptation of her novel series - the infamous Nextflix drama, Bridgerton.

This season we’ve seen the usual expected level of sex, scandal and sideburns, but throw in a wedding as well and we just couldn’t help ourselves! So move over Penelope (Aka actress Nicola Coughlan) and come and check out our top picks of “The Season”  for a Bridgerton style wedding that would make any young debutant, and esteemed member of The Ton, green with envy!

Think traditional meets contemporary, bold A line skirts, corset tops and statement stately home gowns.

First in at number 1

Trish Peng - Avery

Avery boasts several stunning features. A bold A Line skirt with a subtle but added extra little sexiness from the side split plus two handy pockets- yes pockets! Practicality meets beauty, so you always have somewhere to keep your latest copy of Whistledown!

The cleverly placed boning detail can snatch any waistline in to be the size of a pea and a soft curved neckline with folded ruching gives off classic bridal vibes.

If that wasn’t enough for you, knowing our brides love versatility, Trish Peng delivers by offering not one but TWO different detachable straps. Go for the beautiful elegant drop sleeve during your ceremony, swap to the ballerina style spaghetti straps over dinner and finally when your dance card is full, go sleek and strapless for extra room to move. Avery is our top pick for you Bridgerton style brides!

Number 2

Hera Couture - Le Belle V2

Le Belle is the Belle of The Ball in our humble opinion.

Beautiful timeless mikado fabric and another A Line with pockets and a split! The split creates extra movement and flow as you move, meaning you can flash those Jimmy Choos with pride, without fear of hiding them all day under a floor length gown. Belted detail around the waist creates a beautiful silhouette, whilst the low back meets well below the shoulders in a stunning point. In Hera’s true statement style, this is where the pearl button detail begins and continues all the way to the very bottom of the train. Gorgeous gathered ruching around the bust flows into a stunning soft drop sleeve that looks both chic and effortless. Think of pairing this with timeless white roses and ideally a Viscount for a finance.

Number 3

Jane Hill- Portifino

It’s impossible not to shine like the diamond of the season in the Jane Hill, Portifino. Contemporary chic with its one drop sleeve that falls gracefully down the arm against a stunning gathered neckline. Obvious stand out boning along the waistline creates traditional corset detail and fit and flare shape for a modern look. Portifino is finished in a satin Mikado fabric that screams royalty. Queen Charlotte herself would have trouble turning a blind eye to this show stopper!

Number 4

Jane Hill - Ford

It’s not always about Diamonds when the jewel of the moment actually seems to be Pearl everywhere we look! With that in mind, the Jane Hill, Ford dress makes an exceptional example of how to wear pearls well. With a stylish sharp neckline to give any bride the attention she deserves, this stunner is also embellished with a graceful, diagonal band of shimmering pearls across the top half of the bodice. Carefully placed ruching around the tummy and waist nods to the classic Jane Hill shape, but like Penelope Fetherington herself, she’s had a full makeover and one hell of an upgrade! That’s even without mentioning the detachable half overskirt that oozes both modernity and creativity. The very top back of the bodice is lined only with mesh so we can see the stunning and obvious paneling detail against the skin. Whether you’re marrying in the hustle and bustle of Mayfair or retreating to the countryside, Ford is the perfect mix of classic meets contemporary.

Number 5

Made With Love -  Florence

If you’re planning on waltzing around the ballroom to a string quartet of Dua Lipa’s latest hits on your wedding day, then make sure you do it with style in the ever beautiful Made With Love, Florence. She’s a classic pleated A line silhouette in satin mikado fabric and a snatched waist for extra shape. This dress holds her own in our top five with two simple yet daring features. One is the straight cut neckline which is a heavy contrast to the flowing romantic skirt. The second is the deep but equally elegant plunge starting from the bust and ending at the lower waist in a slim V. This dress is not for your average wallflower!
