Well it certainly has been a Merry Flipping Christmas! 

If you didn’t quite make it on to the nice list this year, (we salute you) if the turkey was cold and someone (as usual) got too drunk, too rowdy, too handsy or too emotional at the family party then quite frankly it’s probably been a success! But it’s fair to say that your Christmas has absolutely peaked if you’re one of the lucky ones this year that’s striding on into the New Year with a fresh dazzler of a diamond on your ring finger.

We know Christmas has been and gone in a heart beat, there’s pine needles all over the living room and you’re still forcing yourself through that box of quality streets, telling yourself you’ll start the health kick on Monday… but as always, at The Aisle we have just the thing to get you excited for January.

It’s already that time of year again! We can almost hear the sleigh bells calling in the distance, although that might just be the Skiption Santa fun run this weekend! Either way, December is well and truly upon us, bringing with it one of the most vibrant and colourful times of the year. It’s also the perfect time (in our humble opinion) to host your wedding, so start thinking of deep glowing rusts and burnt oranges for colour schemes, romantic candle light, country manors and an extra added bit of sparkle… pretty much everywhere!

One of my favourite parts of the day was the journey to the venue with my closest friends and family. It was a moment I'll always cherish—though my nerves started to kick in, they completely calmed me down by playing and singing all my favourite songs, in particular 'miracles happen' from princess diaries. The weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky. Another highlight was our entrance into dinner as married couple, holding hands with my groom and seeing all our favourite people together in one room. It was magical watching our worlds come together and everyone getting along so well. We felt incredibly lucky and loved. There were so many amazing moments throughout the day, but these ones stood out.

And just like that, October descends. Taylor has left us behind, the weather turns colder, the rain returns (not that it ever left!) and the pumpkin spice lattes come back as we plunge back into another Autumn/Winter season. The darker nights and chilly mornings are usually enough to send us all legging it to the Jet2 website to book some sunshine back in. Lets face it, we all know if we’re not careful, this time of year can suddenly creep up on us and it all gets a little bit doom and gloom.

You’re engaged- Congratulations! This is such a crazy and exciting time of your life and perhaps planning your perfect wedding is something you’ve always dreamed of. We all have a vision, even if it isn’t always initially super clear, but you can’t deny that the main event and probably one of the first things you think about is The Dress!

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past 10 weeks, you’ll be well up to speed with the latest installment of Julia Quinns TV adaptation of her novel series - the infamous Nextflix drama, Bridgerton.

This season we’ve seen the usual expected level of sex, scandal and sideburns, but throw in a wedding as well and we just couldn’t help ourselves! The MWL Archie was tried on in my second bridal shop appointment and I pretty much stopped the search then. It was simple but elegant and I loved the drama of the low back.

I had been to a couple of other bridal shops before coming to The Aisle and I was actually starting to get nervous that I wasn’t going to find a dress that I loved but after a bit of googling I found The Aisle and loved the dresses you stock. My initial appointment was with Gemma in Ilkley and she was so lovely and helpful she made made me feel so at ease throughout appointment without any pressure at all.

I never knew what to expect when trying on dresses but you guys were just fabulous and I loved every minute! I felt so comfortable and at ease and it felt like trying on dresses with my friends. Maya made me try other things and it was good to see so many variations of dresses.

They really made the dress for me and helped me to not feel insecure on my day. I visited the old shop too which was gorgeous. I will be persuading all of my friends to visit you at your new studio so I can come to that one too!

They were lovely from the beginning and made me feel really at ease during the process. I didn’t want a veil but they encouraged me to try on the wings, which took an already beautiful dress to the next level. It really completed the look and added that wow factor on the day.

I knew straight away the Elsie Flowy was for me, everything about it felt special and romantic. I LOVED the pockets, the A-Line and the lace detail was perfect and not too much. I found with my skin tone that the white dresses were too harsh on my colouring but the blush tones were perfect - I’d have never tried it but so glad I did!

As soon as I tried on Parker I knew it was the dress for me, I felt the best version of me in it and that is exactly how I wanted to feel.

Enjoy the experience and the day, it's something you (hopefully) won't get to do again, so take it all in and have fun! Try on dresses you're not sure are your style just so you can know for sure, and if you fall in love with your first or second dress just go with your gut!

I was apprehensive about finding the dress, the pressure and focus on the gown can really lay heavy on a bride's mind, it become the focus and my Aisle stylist really understood my feelings from the beginning and immediately put me at ease. The look and feel of The Aisle resonated with my style and i was made to feel so special, from the first email i received to collecting my dress

I instantly had butterflies when I tried hali on for the first time. Every other dress I tried had features of what I expected to go for and hali was a wildcard! I just knew in my heart of hearts it was the perfect fit for a Santorini wedding, simple but elegant and truly special! My mum and sister just knew as soon as I tried it on that it was THE ONE! 

It is so easy to get into the ‘maybe there’s another more perfect dress in the next shop’ mentality. I can’t say enough how this will only add stress and pressure into your life. Trust your gut, and go for something that feels comfortable as well as making you feel a million dollars.

My experience at the aisle was such a special time for me. Due to not being the most confident person I was quite nervous to have to stand and look at myself in the mirror for an hour, but Maya at my first appointment and Aoife at my pick up appointment made me feel so so confident and beautiful for the first time in a long time!

Visiting the aisle was very special - I came during the MWL trunk show and was just in a sea of MWL heaven. With the help of Maya, my mum & sister I managed to say yes to the dress and I have no regrets at all. The atmosphere was very calming, relaxed and fun which I believe is key to finding the perfect dress. It shouldn’t be a stressful time!
