A bit about me: I trained as a fashion designer, and worked for a few years for various brands across the high street. I absolutely LOVE fashion, but didn’t particularly like the industry...so after my own wedding, I felt I could bring a more fashion led approach into bridal. I opened The Aisle in Feb 2018, in a small space in Ilkley, and have not looked back since!
Having seen 1000’s of brides, with a pandemic, a baby and a shop move in between, I am so proud to have an amazing team and a beautiful studio to call The Aisle.
Describe yourself in three words: Chilled, Shopaholic, Organised.
Describe your perfect dress: Simple, fitted and an interesting neckline!
Drink of choice: Espresso Martini, coffee and alcohol... what could possibly go wrong...
Favourite thing about The Aisle: The Team and all the amazing brides that walk through our doors! Seeing the growth of the business makes me so proud too.
GEMMA
Name: Gemma
Position: Stylist
A bit about me: I trained as a professional dancer at one of London’s most prestigious Musical Theatre Colleges. Following this I took on the touring life and went on the road with the musical Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Performing over 1000 shows in theatres up and down the UK and Ireland. When I got engaged to my now Husband who I met in the show, I craved the ‘settled’ life. I came to look for my wedding dress at The Aisle, got chatting to the lovely Katie and Maya and left with a new job. It was definitely a ‘right place at the right time’ moment and I’ve never looked back. I loved my years performing but I have gone from one very fun, happy job to another and I feel incredibly lucky! I can’t wait to continue to meet lots of lovely new brides and help them find their dream dress just like I did.
Describe yourself in three words: Optimistic, Happy, Energetic.
Describe your perfect dress: My wedding dress, I AM AN AISLE BRIDE!
Drink of choice: Something sweet, fruity and summery, a kiwi, lime and mint firefly or a classic Fanta lemon. Alcohol, i'll drink anything.
Favourite thing about The Aisle: Seeing how happy we make our brides when they find THE ONE! And trying on the dresses of course!
GEORG
Name: Georg
Position: Stylist
Although I studied English, Theatre and Creative Writing at University (what feels like three lifetimes ago!) I then went to work in the more corporate sales side of fashion and retail. I worked for some well known luxury and premium fashion brands throughout my career, managing accounts throughout the UK and travelling all around the country. When I became a mum in 2022 this really put life into perspective for me and it was time to focus on doing something that I really loved now!
I came to The Aisle as a customer looking for the perfect dress for my own wedding in Thailand, and of course, I found it! As soon as I walked into the store, I knew I was getting my dress from here. It really was the right place at the right time kind of moment and a couple of months later, I was back in store reliving the experience with all the beautiful brides that come to see us- but this time as their stylist!
Describe yourself in three words: Relaxed, Individual, Intuitive!.
Describe your perfect dress: Ricci by Hera Couture! Because this is my wedding dress and I’m still in love with it.
Drink of choice: Day to day- Coffee, coffee and more coffee! If we’re talking party time, Pornstar Martini all the way.
Favourite thing about The Aisle: Getting to work with these babes every day and putting brides in our incredible dresses and watching that moment when they find the right one. Oh, and the smell throughout the shop! If you know you know!
MAYA
Name: Maya
Position: Stylist
A bit about me: I have previously worked in the hair and make up industry and have loved being creative in any role I’ve taken on.
I love fashion and was always the one within my friendship group to have my outfit planned for every event throughout the year.
I’m a girls girl,love to chat and meet new people so I thought why not put the two together and The Aisle is where I landed.
Besides having the dream job I love food and going to the best restaurants and bars in my spare time. Definitely along side shopping!
Describe yourself in three words: Outgoing, friendly and a little bit weird!
Describe your perfect dress: A simple crepe dress with a gorgeous cut sounds like perfection to me!
Drink of choice: A Spicy Bloody Mary or a Lychee Martini (anything with a percentage will do if I’m being honest.
Favourite thing about The Aisle: Definitely seeing it grow from when I first started at the original shop in Ilkley. I love all the social media side of the job as you probably all know! Lastly, the opportunities and friends it’s given me hands down have to be my favourite part of it all.
